As per the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959 and rules thereof, all establishments – both public and private enterprises having 25 and more nos. of Employees are required to notify their vacancies to the Employment Exchanges in their jurisdiction in the prescribed format Rule IV under Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Rules, 1960.
There are five nos. of Model Career Centres at District Employment Exchanges – Guwahati, Jorhat, Nagaon, Silchar and Haflong. Interested candidates may register in the National Career Service (NCS) Portal - https://www.ncs.gov.in/ and can avail various Employment – related services such as information relating to various placement / recruitment drives, job-fairs / jobmela, training programmes etc.
All Govt. Industrial Training Institutes in Assam have Placement Cells. There is also a central Placement Centre at ITI Guwahati, Gopinath Nagar. An ITI passed-out candidate can get engagement in different Govt./PSUs/Private establishments. Moreover they can apply for financial assistance from Govt. for self employment.
